17 Oct 2011 - Steelworks Picnic Day...

Good morning Peter, Thanks for all your assistance yesterday - we had another great day – all of the feedback I have received has been very positive. The course was in great condition & the weather was kind. Your help in organising everything from the cards, to the registration, to the prize table, to the lunches and everything else made my day as organiser so much easier, it is very much appreciated.

The Procurement Maintenance Team (the winners) would like to thank you for putting on such a great day yesterday. Also could you thank the club for the excellent services they provided.

14 Feb 2011 - Simply put I enjoy playing there. Staff are very helpful, the course is incredibly scenic. Enjoy standing on every tee and green and just looking at the surrounds. The greens might have been a bit slow, but still ran true and in general the course is in pretty good nick. Drove an hour to play here and even without the discounted green fees its still good value for money. Looking forward to playing here again soon.

17 Jan 2011 - my wife and i really liked this course. she plays off 25 and i play off 5. the course is interesting and challenging with a good mix of very hard to easy holes. we played during a fairly strong north-easterly wind. some uphill into the wind long holes were very difficult. i played off the blue tees, off the black would be a real test. if you can’t control you tee shots then on this course you will spend a lot of time looking for your ball in long grass. the greens were a very good surface, lots of undulations but manageable. tees were in excellent condition

10 Jan 2011 - I have played this course probably a dozen times since 2006. It was not until this year (played twice over the christmas break) that I could say I really enjoyed it as a course. The greens are in the best shape I have seen them and the deep rough is really penal. In previous years the greens and fairways were a bit patchy / sparse which would have been partly drought related. The rain has made the course lush so it was a real pleasure to play. All new courses take 5+ years to establish so if you played this course a few years back I would encourage you to play again. I played with a strong north easter one day and then three days later with a gentle southerly. The difference was 5 wood versus pitching wedge on some holes so the course really changes with the conditions. Most of the holes have a links feel and make you think through your options when coming into greens.
